Our Founder
James Reid is the founder and president of Tycon Builders Inc. With over 37 years of construction industry experience, he has worked on projects in New York, London, Los Angeles, Belfast, and Barcelona. Today he focuses exclusively on the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area.
Our founder is passionate about creating stunning projects in close collaboration with clients and the design team. A master carpenter by trade, James takes a hands-on approach to daily operations, working alongside his colleagues at every stage of the project.
James lives in San Francisco with Catherine, their two children, and their furry pets Buster and Hogan. When he isn’t working, he likes to enjoy the uniqueness of the city.
For over thirty six years, James has been studying energy, movement, and martial arts of Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Indian origin. Incorporating daily practice of these disciplines have become an integral part of his life to help in understanding and maintaining a conditioned mind, body and spirit, creating balance – the true essence of the arts.
Master Sah Dan (4th Dan)
James applies this strong foundation in his approach with a rich background in construction and a deep passion for his craft. His diverse experience across various cities and his commitment to incorporating energy and martial arts into his daily life gives him a unique perspective on project management and design. His hands-on approach and focus on collaboration creates a dynamic work environment at Tycon Builders Inc.
